I think I’m an Admiral!

A commodore is in command of two ships. An Admiral is in charge of three or more ships.

I have a Ranger 26, an O’Day Widgeon 12′ day sailor and a old “iron sides” single crew scow of a “tub” dry docked in my back yard. Adding a cork, a stick with a sheet, and an oar would make the SS Rust Bucket sea worthy. Shoot, I’ve even seen a few of the same class vessels in real races! I know that some may quibble, but the fact is that I’m at least a Commodore and I think that Admiral is now appropriate, especially considering my extremely nebulous power to corral the larger Ranger 26 Fleet.

Yes, I know that technically a fleet should sail together, but with only about 70 Ranger 26 hulls in existence, I think we all need to stick together. Besides, it’s becoming an ever smaller world and right here on Ranger26.com we do, in a way, all come together and share a bond that stretches across oceans. So without further introduction, I present to you with a very particular sense of importance (but completely un-ordered), the Ranger 26 Fleet!

I am in the process of doing a complete renovation on my KR 26. All interior walls and cabinets have been either removed or chopped up to the point where they need replaced. Does anyone have a source and or detailed photos of head, bulkhead walls, breaker panels, etc. ? Any info would be appreciated.

We are selling Stargazer, our restaurant business requires us to change our plans about sailing. The boat is loaded with new equipment too numerous to mention. Stargazer sold to someone somewhere around Port Townsend area but so far I haven’t seen her. I did talk to the people who own a KR26 in Bellingham. At last call it was for sale for a low price and needed tlc. There is one for sale in the Bend, Ore. area on a trailer.

Regarding the Fleet Gallery, I believe we bought Spontaneity but under the name Green Eyes while lying at Anacortes, in 2012 (HIN RFB014340478). The good news for me was that the KR26 got my wife out much more than on my KR20 (which I still have), but so much so that we outgrew the accommodations and sold her in 2015, with an almost-new Yamadog 9.9 LS, to a knowledgeable friend; we moved up rather significantly (as in 12-foot-itis) and I still miss my beloved 26, especially for single-hand maneuvering. I think she’s been sold again but not sure to whom or where. I’ll reach out to him to see if I can help with updating this list. I still enjoy visiting the KR26 site and reading about what’s going on in the fleet.

I love her and since the ranger 26 looks like the off spring of my beloved Warward Haven (uscg registered downeaster 32). one of these ranger 26 boats would make a great addition to my fleet as a little race boat is my home birth of LAYC lake arthur yacht club.
